D. Brian Belfield PT, DPT (Warsaw/Burgess)

Brian Belfield
Brian earned his BS in Biology from Hampden-Sydney College in 1994 where he played baseball and spent many hours working with the sports medicine team. Due to his experience there, he went on to pursue his Master and Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy at VCU. Upon gaining experience in outpatient, rehab, and home health settings, Brian and his wife, Gina, established Belfield Physical Therapy in September 2003 with the goal of providing the best available PT services to his hometown area. Since then, he has seen his office and business staff grow into a well-known and successful practice. Brian is also an avid triathlete and Ironman finisher thus combines his athletic experience with the treatment of overuse athletic injuries. His areas of specialty include shoulder, lower back, and foot/ankle injuries.

Nancy Patrick, PT (Warsaw)
Nancy Patrick
Nancy joined the Belfield Physical Therapy team in October of 2012. Her professional interests include rehabilitation of orthopedic injuries, sports rehabilitation and conditioning and general deconditioning. She incorporates a variety of treatment techniques including manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, postural and core stabilization/re-education and patient education to improve mobility during functional activities. She is passionate about providing individualized quality one-on-one treatment to achieve each individual's goals towards pain free functional movement. She also enjoys mentoring students pursuing their degree in physical therapy.

Josh Beamer
Josh joined Belfield Physical Therapy in May 2013. Josh has strong ties to the Northern Neck and Middle Peninsulas where he grew up and even served as the assistant baseball and football coach at Essex High School. Due to his strong athletic background, Josh has a special interest in treating and preventing shoulder, elbow, and knee overuse and sport injuries.

John Buchwald
John joined the Belfield Physical Therapy staff in May 2017 after earning his Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree from Virginia Commonwealth University. John brings with him a diverse and extensive background in massage therapy, public health, and academic instruction which have allowed him to develop excellent interpersonal and professional skills to ensure a conducive and quality focused patient-clinician relationship is formulated. John focuses heavily on manual therapy skills and more importantly patient education. He strongly believes patient education is a vital component of the treatment plan and necessary to help patients care for themselves long term and to prevent future impairments/injuries.

Christine Moran, MS, PT, CHT (Warsaw)
Christine Moran
Christine Moran, MS, PT, CHT joined BPT in August 2015 as a hand specialist. She has practiced in Richmond since 1975 with sole ownership of the Richmond Upper Extremity Center and current owner of Hand Therapy Solutions. Christine has been a certified hand therapist since 1991 and a member of the American Society of Hand Therapists since 1978. She served on the original examination committee and other committees within the Hand Therapy Certification Commission. Additionally, she has held faculty positions at MCV, ODU and Rocky Mountain Physical Therapy programs. Christine has had the honor of lecturing nationally on topics related to the hand and arm. She has also published articles and book chapters pertaining to the same topics.

Sandy Z
Sandy joined BPT in June 2015, bringing with her over 20 years of clinical experience. Sandy was born and raised in Long Island, New York and received her Masters of Physical Therapy from Springfield College in Massachusetts. She has experience in various therapy settings including: skilled nursing, acute care, home health, and out patient facilities. Due to her diverse clinical and continuing education background, Sandy incorporates a variety of treatment techniques in order to maximize her patients' function.

Drew Sanders
Drew started working at Belfield Physical Therapy in 2010 as a physical therapy tech while completing his Associate of Arts and Sciences Degree at Rappahannock Community College. He joined the staff as a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant in April 2013 after completing his degree at ECPI. Drew has clinical experience with age groups ranging from geriatrics to pediatrics, but has special interest working with orthopedic injuries, sports rehab, and neurological disorders. He uses a combination of manual techniques, therapeutic exercise progression, and patient education to help his patients regain their functional independence. Drew aims to provide quality health care and develop professional relationships with all his patients, as well as cater to their individual rehabilitation needs to help them reach their recovery goals.

Morgan Chenault
Morgan joined Belfield Physical Therapy in May 2017 as a licensed Physical Therapy Assistant upon completion of her Associates of Applied Science Degree in Physical Therapy Assistant from Germanna Community College. Morgan is a native of Essex County and eager to return home to help better serve the rehabilitation needs of her community. Her desire to purse a career in physical therapy is very close and dear to her heart. Her grandfather was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease and Morgan saw first hand how valuable and advantageous physical therapy could be in maintaining his mobility and overall quality of life. She has a special interest in working with the geriatric population in general and truly enjoys building relationships and learning from her patients. In the future, Morgan would like to enhance her clinical skills by attending continuing education courses focused on neurological disorders, sacroiliac dysfunction, and low back pain.

Whitney Rock, PTA (Burgess)
Whitney Rock
Whitney joined Belfield Physical Therapy in August 2016 as a licensed Physical Therapy Assistant, however she is a familiar face to the BPT family as she has served as a PT tech in the past as well as completed a clinical rotation under the guidance of Sandy Zeiler. Being a native to the area and her strong love for the outdoors, Whitney knew she wanted to return home upon graduating from ECPI to offer her newly acquired skills to assist patients with reaching their maximum functional potential. Being a new PTA graduate, she is eager to work with all patient populations and gain further clinical experience to better serve the Northern Neck. Whitney brings with her a special skill set of Reiki, which is a Japanese derived technique for relaxation in which the practitioner places his/her hands lightly on or slightly above the person to facilitate the body's natural healing abilities and reduce stress. In the near future, she hopes to become a Reiki Master so she can teach and certify others interested in the complementary health approach. Whitney also has special interest in craniosacral and joint mobilizations and plans to seek out continuing education courses in those areas to advance her skill set.
